Is my browsing data sent to your servers?
No. By default, Sessionat is local-first — your tabs stay in your browser's local storage and never leave. When you explicitly trigger an AI feature, only the specific tabs you reference (titles and URLs) are sent to our server for that one request. We never retain them and never train on them. You can disable AI entirely in settings.
Do I need an account?
No — the free tier is fully local and works without signing up. You only need an account for AI features (so we can apply credits) or cross-device sync.
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and any Chromium-based browser: Microsoft Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera. Safari and Firefox are on the roadmap but not yet available.
How is this different from OneTab or Session Buddy?
OneTab collapses your tabs but has no search or AI. Session Buddy has local reliability but no AI and collects payment information. Sessionat is the only one that's both local-first and AI-native. See the full comparison on the home page or our dedicated comparison pages.
What do AI credits cost?
Free: 100 credits included, no card required. Pro: 5,000 credits per month for $19/mo (or $119/yr, saves 48%). Most AI operations cost 1 credit. Unused credits roll over up to 3 months on Pro.
How do I export my sessions?
One click, JSON, from the popup: Settings → Export → Download. Clean, documented format — you can import it into any Chromium browser or parse it yourself.
